Job Title: Fundamental Equities Portfolio Manager
Position Overview:
The Fundamentals Discretionary Equities Portfolio Manager drives a long/short equity strategy through bottom-up fundamental analysis, conviction-based position selection, and active risk management. This role emphasizes deep company research, qualitative insights, and tactical adjustments to generate alpha in dynamic markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough fundamental analysis of public companies, including financial modeling, earnings forecasts, competitive positioning, and management assessments to identify mispriced equities.
Build and manage concentrated long and short portfolios with defined theses, catalysts, and exit strategies, adjusting positions based on evolving fundamentals and market conditions.
Oversee portfolio construction, including sizing, hedging, sector balancing, and leverage optimization to achieve targeted risk-adjusted returns.
Engage with company management, attend conferences, and leverage industry networks to refine investment ideas.
Perform performance attribution analysis and post-trade reviews to iterate on the investment process.
Collaborate with research teams, traders, and risk managers while communicating strategies to stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA required.
8+ years of buy-side experience in discretionary long/short equity, with demonstrated alpha generation.
Advanced proficiency in valuation methods (DCF, comparables, LBO) and tools like Bloomberg or FactSet.
Strong analytical and qualitative judgment skills for high-conviction decisions.
